Molly Newham is a landscape artist and ultra-runner whose practice spans abstract painting, drawing and sculpture. Her work explores physical and emotional relationships to landscape, using movement, gesture, colour and mark-making to capture embodied experiences of place.

Through a practice of long-distance running, Newham develops a physical understanding of landscape, translating sensations of terrain, weather, distance and endurance into abstract forms. Her work considers how a place can be felt, remembered and experienced using unstable and weathered materials alongside gestural painting to explore ideas of erosion, temporality and change.
